In a little under a week First News will be kicking off this year’s festival, with a highly interactive journalism workshop. This year is the first year that we have decided to include non-fiction based sessions, and we’re dleighted that First News will be joining us. If you are a newshound or dream of being a world class reporter, this is the session for you!
Join a member of the First News team for a fascinating talk about all the different aspects of creating a news paper and how to write a great article. There’ll be plenty of time to ask questions too.
We will also be welcoming Nicky Dee to the festival, on Friday 28th July. Nicky will be giving us a smeakpreview of her latest book, The Bone Wars, as well as giving the audience opportunities to handle real dinosaur artefacts! Nicky is the author of the series ‘Special Dinosaurs’ – you may have been lucky enough to meet her at Chicken and Frog Bookshop last year.
Join Nicky for a jam-packed talk, with superb artefacts to keep any budding paleontologist on the edge of their seats. There’ll be time for questions, and Nicky will be on hand to sign books too.
On a side note, some of our festival goers have found the theatre box office pages a little confusing. There is a ‘ring’ button at the bottom of the page, but there is also a ‘book now’ button, just above it, which you can use at any time.
Alternatively, Chicken and Frog Bookshop can process your ticket purchasing in store or on 01277 230068, Monday to Wednesday, 9:30-18:30, Thursday to Saturday, 9:30-17:30, or call the theatre‘s box office on 01277 200305, Monday to Friday, 13:00-16:00.
