Sunday mornings are usually a time for snoozing, maybe eating a substantial breakfast and generally resting before the next working week begins. But not so for Lara Williamson…well, not this Sunday anyway.

Lara didn’t come alone. Apart from her lovely family, she also came armed with a purple dog, a snail hat, a bag of ideas and an incredible amount of enthusiasm. Bucket loads of it in fact.

Lara shared snippets from 10-year-old Lara’s diary, to show the audience that we are all writers and we all have ideas bubbling away inside us. She shared her top tips for becoming an author – tea and biscuits feature highly, as did having fun. But, as Lara said, at some point it all comes down to BIC. Bum in Chair. Go for it!

There were games galore, with a pass the parcel of questions (and sweets), the wish game and a fantastic brainstorming session too.

Quote of the day from Lara: ‘If you chase the dream, you might catch it.’

And from the audience:
