Councillor Julie Morrissey (Brentwood South) has allocated part of her ward budget to the festival!

The money will be spent on making sure that pupils from Hogarth Primary School in Cllr. Morrissey’s ward can attend events in 2016. Family tickets are to be given to the school, for the Head Teacher Nera Butcher to pass on.

Cllr. Morrissey said: “Books are a very big part of my life and the Brentwood Children’s Literary Festival will unlock the joy of reading for so many of our youngsters. That’s why so its important to me that children from Hogarth School are given the opportunity to take part.”

In addition, Cllr. Philip Mynott (Brentwood North) and Cllr. Louise Rowlands (Shenfield) have also awarded funding, which will have a positive impact on the schools within their respective wards. We will be speaking to the schools shortly to tell them how many family tickets they will receive!
